GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM - Stuhr Museum’s second annual festival of petals and
pedestrians returns with more activity than ever for kids and adults! During the event, the museum closes to motorized traffic to let walkers, riders, strollers, sprinters, and off roaders rule the grounds!
This year, the museum is dedicated to getting more in the community involved in this healthy activity in a number of ways. This year events include:
●A bicycle parade at 11 a.m. with prizes awarded for the best bikes in 4 different categories: Best Nebraska Themed, Best School Pride, Most Patriotic and Judge's Choice.
●Free bicycle inspections by Wayne’s Cyclery of Grand Island
●Free bike helmets and information from several different Grand Island agencies including the Red Cross, Tri-City SAFE Kids, and more.
●An exhibit of bicycles from the past 100 years!
●A dozen paths at the museum to hike, bike and explore for fun and prizes. Railroad Town will also be open during the event.
Most of all, this is a chance to enjoy a healthy fall afternoon and learn about the services and organizations encouraging healthy behavior in Grand Island.
Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members. For more
information, contact Stuhr Museum at (308) 385-5316. In the meantime, here are pictures from last year's event.
