CANCELLED Stuhr-pendous Saturday: Entertaining America

January 13 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

1/12/24 update: This program has been cancelled due to the extreme weather conditions predicted for this weekend.

This week’s Stuhr-pendous Saturday program is perfect for anyone who enjoys play! We will begin with a discussion of the history of games and gameplay in the United States during the 19th century — from card games to board games and other games, as well! We will then talk in more detail about some specific games that our Living Historians and Living History Apprentices utilize here at the museum to teach our visitors about leisure time in the 1890s. Attendees will then have the remaining time to try their hand at some reproductions of 19th-century games! Children and adults welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult.

This program is included free with regular daily admission: Adults $14, Seniors $13, Youth ages 6-12 $12 and youth ages 5 & under free. Those who receive food assistance through SNAP or WIC can show their card to receive reduced admission of $3 per person ages 6 & up. Stuhr Museum members receive free daily admission.
