Join us as we discuss William Kloefkorn’s book, This Death by Drowning. This book is the first installment in Kloefkorn’s four-part memoir, each of which covers one of the four elements: water, fire, earth, and air. The memoirs in this book are all related to water in some way.
William Kloefkorn was born in 1932 in Attica, Kansas and spent his childhood there. After a stint in the Marines, he earned his BA and MA at Emporia State Teacher’s College. In 1962, he took a job in the English department at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. In 1982, Kloefkorn was named State Poet of Nebraska.
This Death by Drowning was chosen for book club in conjunction with the current featured exhibit at Stuhr Museum, Braided Water: Interlacing Routes in Deep Time and Space, an art installation by Susan Knight.
