Swedish Immigrant Experience

Join us for a special immersive interpretive experience in Railroad Town on Saturday, July 20! Here’s the scenario:
A young Swedish woman has come to America to find better job prospects amidst economic hardships and has stopped at our town’s railroad depot after her train was diverted on her way to Stromsburg, Nebraska. She is excited to meet new people and share stories of her journey as she waits for the next train to come along and take her the rest of the way to her new home!
The stories shared during this experience are based on the real-life story of our living historian’s great-grandmother, who came to Stromsburg from Sweden in the late 19th century.
