FAQs

Why is it called the Melting Pot?

While food is often classified by terms such as American, Mexican, Chinese, and Indonesian, just to name a few, we know that many of these foods have been influenced by flavors or ingredients from other places. For example, spices have been shipped around the world as part of the spice trade or thousands of years, and the foods we know and love would be so different without those ingredients.

Furthermore, food has a wonderful way of bringing people together, creating connections and opportunities to learn about different cultures. Our hope is that when you dine at the Melting Pot, you’ll take a moment to reflect on the incredible culinary history that has led to the foods we enjoy today!

Do I have to pay museum admission to eat at the Melting Pot?

No, you do not have to pay admission fees when you visit Stuhr Museum between 11 am – 2 pm to eat at the Melting Pot! Let our staff at the gate know and they will get you checked in and give you directions to the cafe.

Do you offer catering?

Catering is available for events held at Stuhr Museum. When you book a wedding, baby shower, birthday party, family reunion, graduation party, or really any sort of celebration, we would love to talk with you about providing food for your event. For more information on facility rentals, please contact Karly Rasmussen, Facility Events Manager.
