Made possible by MacKenna’s loving family; grandparents Mike & Annetta Milhon, aunt and uncle Sunny and Kevin Forrest, and an employee nonprofit match made by Union Pacific Railroad – and inspired by MacKenna’s compassionate spirit and her deep love for Stuhr Museum’s Summer Adventure classes, this special fund helps open the door for children who might not otherwise have the chance to participate.

Some of MacKenna’s brightest memories were the summers she spent in Grand Island with her grandparents, Mike and Annetta. Each year, they brought her to Summer Adventures at Stuhr where she played, created, discovered, and grew. These experiences filled her childhood with joy, and today they continue to inspire MacKenna’s family to help other children experience that same sense of wonder.

“MacKenna was just a red-headed freckle-faced girl who loved Stuhr Museum” – Mike Milhon

Your gift to the scholarship fund helps provide tuition assistance, transportation, lunches, and the support needed to ensure these programs remain accessible to all. For many young people, this scholarship turns a quiet summer into one filled with hands-on learning, new friendships, and meaningful connections to the stories of our past.
