NEBRASKA STATE HAND CORNHUSKING CONTEST

The Nebraska State Hand Cornhusking Contest will kick off at 11:00 am with Opening Ceremonies followed by the contest itself. Scores will be tallied and awards presented following each class. Be sure to visit the nearby Cleary Farm, where you’ll be able to tour the house and see weaving and spinning demonstrations. Kids’ activities can be found at the farm as well as food trucks and live music during lunchtime! The contest and accompanying activities are expected to wrap up in the early afternoon.

RAILROAD TOWN AGRICULTURAL FAIR

Railroad Town is the living history part of Stuhr Museum, where costumed living historians invite the public to step back in time and experience life in the 1890s. Agricultural fairs are an exciting time for any agricultural community throughout history, and the residents can’t wait to show off their best work! Visit the exhibit tents, see ‘new’ technology being demonstrated, play carnival games, and maybe even catch a showing of Professor Lysander B. Jones’ Medicine Show and Musicale! Fair hours are 10 am – 5 pm on Saturday, Sept. 14 and 12 – 5 pm on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2023.
