More than 75 years ago, there were 80-minute long contests to determine who was the best person at picking corn by hand. Today, the times are a little shorter, based on the rules set by the National Cornhusking Association. The winners from nine participating states in the National Cornhusking Association compete each October to determine a national champion. The participating states include: Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, South Dakota, and Nebraska.
Registration for the 2023 Nebraska State Hand Cornhusking Contest is $30 per person and includes registration for your age class and entry in the team pick contest.
Pre-registered contestants will also receive two (2) free museum admission passes for themself and a guest for the day of the contest. Regular admission fees apply for additional guests.
