Use the map below to learn about the different areas of Stuhr Museum.
1. Leo B. Stuhr Building
The Stuhr Building was named for Leo Stuhr, son of early Hall County settlers and a member of the founding board of the museum. This elegant building was designed by world-renowned architect Edward Durell Stone and serves as our welcome center, exhibit space, and meeting area. The exhibit space contains both permanent historic displays and temporary exhibits ranging from specific historical themes to artwork, and even Christmas trees depending on the time of year. The Stuhr Building is also home to the Prairie Treasures Gift Shop.
2. Menck Cabin
Christmastime on the Nebraska plains in the 1860s may have been simpler with fewer supplies readily available, especially during the Civil War, but the holiday spirit still shines bright in these homes. Visitors will find that the joy of the season is just as warm and welcoming today as it was then!
Note: The Vieregg Cabin will be open on December 5 for Members’ Night.
